On the 16th of April 2019, Luke Saydon's work was recognised and celebrated at the 2nd Annual Maltese National Arts Awards (Il- Premju Għall- Arti). Going into the night with four nominations, Luke and his writing partner Denise Mulholland took home three awards, including Best Production. HUSH, the musical about a silent boy saving a silent world, was hailed as the year's Best Work for Young Audiences as well as Best Production. Moreover, Luke Saydon was titled as Young Artist of the Year.
The ceremony held at the Maltese National Theatre in Valletta awarded artists and companies in 13 different categories. Il-Premju għall-Arti is Malta's most prestigious award that acknowledges excellence in artistic work premiered during the year. It celebrates the main achievements of the Maltese cultural and creative industries. Arts Council Malta’s aim is to recognise and reward excellent and outstanding work premiered throughout the 2017/2018 season.
